Fondas Sumerson If you're searching for an 80's post-punkish version of the Sisters with a Swans touch, then you found it... Pure old school darkness revival! One of the most interesting abums that I've listened to lately! Favorite track: Ratboy.
Carlos Parlos (cp49)
Carlos Parlos (cp49) thumbnail
Carlos Parlos (cp49) Anyone else notice that the CD tracks are in a different order than the Digital album (but not labelled accordingly)? Anyhoo, it doesn't really effect the flow and this album is tons of gloomy fun. The best post-punk crying in the dance club goth dance shit I've heard in years. Favorite track: No Funeral.
BlueTempleVisions thumbnail
BlueTempleVisions Part Peter Steele, part Andrew Eldritch, but somehow not derivative - the vocals here give this a character of its own and push this to the front of the Gothic-Dark Wave/Post-Punk Death Rock scene. Track 1 (The Defilers) is one of the best intros to an album in quite a while! Essential record for 2020! Favorite track: In The Night.
Spinebrain thumbnail
Spinebrain I am not usually a big sucker for post-punk acts, but this is a great album and example that you should never say never. Favorite track: No Funeral.

. Time for vampires and goths to occupy the Bauhaus, causing Christian Death..... The guitar tone has an excellent crunch to it, and the atmosphere is more than satisfactory. Big ups to Executioner's Mask Favorite track: 1988.

Executioner’s Mask is the dark post punk child of three unlikely suspects: Jay Gambit of the noise metal unit Crowhurst providing vocals, Ryan Wilson from the legendary Howling Void lending both guitar and drum programming and LACE and Cop Warmth’s Craig Mickle handles even more guitar. Offering a modern take on the classic blueprints set by bands like AFI, The Sisters Of Mercy and Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry.

Hailing from equal parts Texas and Philadelphia, 2018’s ‘True Blue’ demo was gloomy and cavernous while weaving infectious hooks at every turn. Not too much sooner after, the group completed production on their Profound Lore debut “Despair Anthems”. The album features production from Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, Nothing) and Ryan Schwabe (Big Thief, Algernon Caldweller) that remains both raw and satisfying throughout.
